X1 applicants can stay in China for up to 1 year or longer to complete their respective courses, while X2 visa holders are not allowed to stay longer than 6 months.

Accommodation: The Chinese universities provide all types of facilities from dormitories, cafeterias, and laundries, to community spaces to all international students. But if you wish to stay in private accommodation, you can easily find it by using the available apps and by joining online social communities.
Open a bank account: International students who study in China for more than 3 months must open a bank account. As a requirement, make sure to show your passport and student ID at the bank.
Buy a SIM card: Buy a SIM card for your cell phone when you arrive in China to stay connected with your family and friends.
Learn Chinese culture: Your life will be easier if you learn the Chinese culture before arriving in the country. If you learn how to interact with the Chinese people, their body language, traditional norms, and basic etiquette, it will be easy for you to get along with your classmates, teachers/professors, neighbors, roommates, and other people.
Join a Community: Once you move to China, make sure you join a social community for networking and gain valuable support and contacts. Register with your university's international student organizations and join university clubs that you are interested in. You can also volunteer for community projects and get to know the city's residents. It will enrich your life in China and make your stay fruitful.
